Christmas in Rome

We've seen this movie a million times already - one half of the couple basically has their work phone surgically attached to them while the other one takes in the beauty of the world around them, but this time it's in Rome, so it's ok. Because ROME AT CHRISTMAS!

via Hallmark Channel
Oliver (Sam Page) is a high-powered something to do with acquiring new businesses. One of these new businesses happens to be in Rome, so with a few weeks until Christmas, off he goes from New York. While trying to figure out directions he literally bumps into Angela (Lacey Chabert), who thankfully speaks English. Angela has just been fired from her job as a Rome tour guide because she keeps going "off-book". Sam's a typical American in Europe (confusing the Parthenon with the Pantheon) with no idea how the customs work. Angela guides him to his business meeting, and also gives him some helpful tips about how business is actually done in Rome. Basically, it's not New York so slow the eff down and put that cell phone away. Angela's advice is impressive to Oliver's client, Luigi, who owns a successful ceramics company, and Oliver realizes he's going to need more help so he employs Angela as his own private tour guide for the duration of his trip. This works as basically a trial for Angela who wants to open her own tour guide company showing people the real Rome, and with Oliver's help she develops a business plan and he even introduces her to investors.

With Angela's guidance, Oliver learns to slow down and take in Rome the proper way. Luigi senses the change in Oliver and gives him his business. Over a special celebratory dinner, Oliver offers to stay in Rome through the new year but a call from his boss ordering him home with a promotion seemingly puts a stop to their budding relationship, as Angela is not interested in a long-distance relationship.

Angela tracks Oliver down at a stunning concert at St. Peter's Square where she learns that Oliver's plans have changed and he's going to be staying on in Rome to oversee Luigi's company.

Angela buys 3 coffees - tradition is the vendor holds 1 until he encounters someone who can't buy their own. Love it!

Is the weather usually this mild in Italy at Christmastime? Outdoor eating? Light jackets?

There should be more opportunities for proper slow-dancing. Is there anything more romantic than dancing to a live band?
