Check Inn to Christmas

I'm a big fan of both Rachel Boston and Wes Brown so I was psyched for this movie and it did not disappoint! The writing is fun and fast and quirky, the setting is quintessentially Hallmark, and Wes Brown is very easy on the eyes and plays the cutest characters.

Julia Crawley (Rachel Boston) is up for a promotion at the NYC law firm she's been working at for the past 10 years. But first, she's going home to Crestridge, Colorado for Christmas and the first person she sees when she gets off the train from the airport is Ryan Mason (Wes Brown). The Crawleys and Masons both own independent inns in Crestridge that go back in their families for 100 years. While it's not exactly Montagues and Capulets, the Crawley and Masons are seriously competitive and have a generations-old disagreement. Ryan manages his family's inn and he and Julia have chemistry from the instant he hands her forgotten laptop at the train station. They, sometimes accidentally-on-purpose, keep running into each other at the town's various Christmas celebrations (snowball tossing contest, wreath making, Christmas trivia, bake-off...). They find out that a big, evil hotel conglomerate has set their eyes on opening a resort in Crestridge and come up with a plan to get their stubborn dads together and keep the big, evil hotel conglomerate at bay. It should come as absolutely no surprise that Julia gets her NYC promotion but decides to stay in Colorado with Ryan, who will be managing the newly merged Crawley/Mason venture.

There's also an entire subplot where Julia's sister, Lexi, is campaigning against Ryan's brother, Frank, for the title of Christmas Grand Marshall. I totally thought we were pushing them together too, but see? Even HM can sometimes surprise us.

Traveling by train is awesome. I highly recommend it!

Again with the coats!

Wes Brown is absolutely adorable. Always.

"Was he asking you about my campaign for Christmas Grand Marshall?"
"No. What do those words mean?"
Ha! Love it.

Wes Brown can accidentally on purpose bump into me anytime.

Yeah, Mayor? That's funny that your hometown event is being sponsored by some big city-slicker corporate hotel that threatens to put 2 of your own businessmen out of work? Hilarious!

Oh hey! Nice throw, Wes/Ryan! Effortlessly cool.

Do you think the sister/brother get together before Ryan and Julia? Twofer!

"You have nothing to worry about." = You should be really, really worried.

What brings Frosty to life? Did he really just guess "pipe"? C'mon!

Loving these clandestine meetings!

He's throwing snowballs at her bedroom window to get her attention. Squeeeeee!

I'd dominate Christmas trivia!

Uh-oh. Edgestone!

Right, Eddie. A new hotel will just be a business BOOM for the existing 2 small independently owned inns. Cracker-jack business sense.

This mayor is the worst. Hope her reindeer tart is stale.

He got up to help her with her chair! #swoon

Big night for the Crawleys!

That Christmas breakfast doesn't look so amazing.

Sigh... that was wonderful!
